Lovely day......

The weather here is fantastic at the moment, bright sunshine and 20C and I had a lovely day yesterday!

I was wide awake at 6.30a.m., so I got up and put the lounge curtains in the wash, then after I'd had my shower I went out into the garden to cut down the daffodils that had died off.       I went to the gym for an hour then MWM and I had our lunch outside on the patio in the sunshine and spent the rest of the day reading and enjoying the garden.   My idea of heaven.

I want to show you the lovely tree, full of blossom, at the end of our grove.

If you click on the pics they should biggify.

As we spent the afternoon in the back garden today I thought I'd share what's growing there.   We have a Clematis 'Pixie' growing up a trellis at the side of our lion's head water feature which has just bloomed.

Here's a close up of the delicate 'Pixie' flowers.

Here's the two hanging baskets in the back garden.

Here's what's growing in the border along the fence between our garden and my neighbour's.

Forest Flame, Rhodedendron bush, and rambling rose. (left to right)

Roses, Daffolidls, Tulips, Lupins, Polyanthus.

Miniture Hyacinths, Acer and Mombresia nestling underneath the Lilac bush but not flowering yet.

These pots on the patio contain Mint, Basil, Marjoram, Parsley and Busy Lizzies.

And last but not least some close-ups of the Tulips, Daffs and Polyanthus.

And here's me enjoying the sunshine.

Ooh splendid! And you look really pleased with yourself!

That big tree with purple flowers looks like the Jacaranda to me(?)

Wonderful!

I have a jasmine that hasn't flowered in 3 years (no idea what to do with it) a climbing rose which flowers but only when it feels like it, a dead bottle brush tree which seriously needs to be pulled up and a christmas tree which seriously needs to be pulled down. I won't even start on my herbs....how the hell do you grow coriander outside?

It is indeed Flowerpot - aren't we lucky? :)

The bush behind me is a Rhodedendron Grandpa, is it similar to the Jacaranda?

You need to do some serious gardening Laney. I don't know how you grow coriander outside I haven't got any.

No doubt the blossom will blow away all too soon Tony but we're enjoying in the meantime. :)

It looks lovely! And I'm stuck at work until Thursday evening - when I have a five day weekend coming and I plan to enjoy every day!

Your clematis is gorgeous. I shall post some pics of my garden soon (when I've got it fit to show to the world!)

Your garden is filled with all kinds of beautiful flowers. I adore all of the lovely colors you planted.

Our temps were in the low nineties yesterday. Too warm for this time of year.

What a beautiful yard you have! All of those flowers are gorgeous. I can tell that you don't spend all of your time just sitting and staring at it -- keeping things lovely takes some work!

You did this post to make me jealous, didn't you? We haven't had anything that even resembles spring over here yet and there sure as heck isn't anything blooming in my yard never mind such gorgeous flowers like you have!

Ah well, maybe one of these days we'll catch up! In the meantime, I'll just enjoy your lovely pictures!

Lovely flowers, Denise. I enjoy the garden at this time of year and especially now that the weather is so good. I feel the spirit is lifted.

The weather is fabulous where we are too. Extraordinarily hot here for the time of year.

That Clematis Pixie has a very deep *honey* type of smell at around 11pm. Ours wafts into the air vents of our house & provides a very heady aroma. Have you noticed? Must be to attract moths.
It is lovely to see your garden and surroundings.

A long weekend is something to look forward to AJ and I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your garden. :)

My Mum used to laugh at me when I said 'lounge' instead of 'living room' Bee LOL

The temp here is way above what we normally get in April Pam but we're not complaining, just making the most of it! LOL

We do have a few nooks and crannies in the garden Ron so there are some 'secret' places. I'm so glad you enjoyed the pics. x

I'm so pleased you enjoyed the photos Thom and no, I haven't received an invite to 'the wedding' either! ;)

We do put a lot of work into the garden Quilly but MWM and I do it together so it's a little easier. :)

Aw, you're too kind Daryl xx

I sure know how to make the most of retirement Cloudia ;)

I'm sure you definitely don't have time for gardening Linda with all the hours you put in at work. I'm happy to share my garden with you honey. xx

With retirement looming you'll be able to get out there and enjoy your garden Bankerchick :)

You're so right about the garden and good weather lifting the spirits Valerie :) I think you got me mixed up with Mrs Nesbitt m'deario - she's Denise. :)

Yes the weather is unseasonably hot for this time of year Maggie but who's complaining? LOL I didn't know about 'Pixie' having that aroma, I'll have to stay up until 11 p.m. to sample it now. :)

Awesome pictures! This time of year is the best. Of course here in South Carolina the brutal humidity is just a few weeks away.

You're right Beach this time of year is the best. Glad you liked the pics.

Forget-me-knots will grow anywhere Snow so they're sure to come up. I'm happy you like the pics.

I noticed that too SAW from pics of your yard. :)

Oh, your garden is glorious, Akelamalu! And your shots of the garden are wonderful, too.

Still chilly in my neck of the woods. I've only got the earliest lungwort/lords-and-ladies, hyacinth, blue scilla and daffodils up, but lots of green shoots and leaves and flower buds on standby.
